(SRN NEWS) – More anti-Semitism in Australia.  Three more cases of hateful graffiti at Jewish institutions were discovered across Sydney on Thursday while Australian political leaders decried as terrorism an incident of explosives found in a trailer on the city’s outskirts.  Lawmen say the trailer contained a list of Jewish targets together with a cache of Powergel — an explosive used in the mining industry.  There have been numerous anti-Semitic attacks on synagogues and Jewish schools in Australia over the past two months.  Some officials are blaming foreign actors.

Under President Trump, the Department of Education has declared book bans to be a hoax and has dismissed 11 complaints that had been filed during the Biden administration.  Nicole Nelly, president of Parents Defending Education, says “For years, parents have said they deserve to know if sexually explicit materials were available to young children, and they were maligned by the media and the Biden Administration for it.”  Lawmakers in numerous states are acting to remove pornographic material from the libraries of elementary and secondary schools.

Maine’s highest court has ruled against a law that removed the statute of limitations for civil claims about child sexual abuse.  Lawmakers in the state approved the law in 2021, and it was later challenged by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland.  Lawyers for the diocese told the Maine Supreme Judicial Court during arguments that they felt the removal of time limits was unconstitutional.  An attorney representing plaintiffs defended the statute as a way to prevent past abuses from being swept away.  Many Catholic dioceses have gone bankrupt because of pedophile priests.

An Ohio pastor who is fighting to keep a homeless shelter open in the city of Bryan says he will appeal the latest court ruling against him.  A judge has found Pastor Chris Avell (uh-VELL) guilty of violating zoning and fire codes in a criminal case.  But his attorneys have vowed to appeal the verdict and continue with a federal lawsuit accusing the city of harassing and humiliating the church and its congregants. The church, called Dad’s Place, remains open in the meantime for those needing a place to stay.  The judge stayed his ruling for 30 days.
