Israel Launches Airstrikes on Houthi Military Sites in Yemen, IDF Confirms

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that it carried out a series of airstrikes against Iran-backed Houthi targets in Yemen, focusing on key military sites at the port of Hodeidah and the nearby Ras Isa port. The strikes come in response to recent Houthi missile attacks on Israel, including three ballistic missile launches this month.

According to the IDF, dozens of Israeli Air Force aircraft were involved in the operation, including fighter jets, refuelers, and spy planes. The military described the targets as critical infrastructure used by the Houthis for military purposes, including power plants and ports, which facilitate the transfer of Iranian weapons and military supplies, such as oil, to the region.

“The IDF attacked power plants and a port, which are used to import oil. Through the targeted infrastructure and ports, the Houthi regime transfers Iranian weapons to the region and supplies for military purposes,” the military stated.

The airstrikes mark a significant escalation in Israel’s response to Houthi aggression, as tensions continue to rise across the Middle East, with the Houthis openly supporting Palestinian groups like Hamas in their conflict against Israel.
