(Undated) — Reports say the FlyDubai co-pilot accused of stabbing the captain of a passenger jet mid-flight was previously banned from flying over fears he had adopted radical ideological views. He was grounded by Oman Air in 2024 after the airline found out he had been visiting radical Islamic websites, and was assigned to a desk job. The reports indicate officials are now investigating how the Omani national was cleared to be in the cockpit of a FlyDubai plane headed for Israel. Passengers and crew subdued the suspect before the plane carrying 174 people landed safely in Saudi Arabia.
