The Texas Rangers placed outfielder Wyatt Langford on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a left hamstring strain and activated outfielder Evan Carter after a short turn on the IL because of an oblique strain.
Langford was a late scratch for Saturday’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays.
A former No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 draft, the 24-year-old Langford is batting .278 with eight home runs and 20 RBIs. He had been limited to 40 games after missing six weeks earlier this season with a right forearm strain.
Langford is a career .251 hitter with 46 home runs and 156 RBIs in 308 games over three seasons with Texas.
Carter, 23, is batting .176 with six home runs and 21 RBI in 66 games this season. He is a career .216 hitter with 21 home runs and 73 RBIs in 197 games over four seasons with the Rangers.
