(SRN NEWS) Israelis across political and religious lines are worried about the weakening connection with younger Jewish Americans. A recent AP poll showed American Jews under 45 tend to consider support for Israel less crucial to their Jewish identity than older adults. Israeli government officials, faith leaders and those working on exchange programs between the two countries consider a close relationship with diaspora Jews a “strategic asset” for both Israel and Jews worldwide. They’re particularly worried about diaspora Jews losing the sense that Israel can be a homeland for them amid rising anti-Semitism around the world.
( ) Seattle Storm co-owner Celeste Keaton has been fined by the WNBA and suspended from attending the team’s next five home games. The suspension comes after Keaton berated a pair of teenage fans after a game last week. The teens were holding signs supporting Sophie Cunningham, a player for the Indiana Fever who has spoken out against transgenderism. Cunningham voiced support for barring males from female sports in an ESPN article published last month. She has been blasted by LGBT advocates on social media and was booed by Storm fans when she checked into the game, as well as when attempting her first free throws.
( ) One of Scouting America’s biggest gatherings has eliminated dedicated spaces for LGBT youth as the organization faces pressure from the Pentagon to pull back its support for the gay agenda. The changes at last week’s National Jamboree reflect shifts made by Scouting America since Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth drew attention to the organization’s woke policies. In fact, Scouting America — which used to be the Boy Scouts — has lost thousands of members and sponsors since approving gay scout leaders and permitting transgender youth to join. The Defense Department has long been one of the Scouts’ leading supporters.
( ) Muslim parents and several Islamic private schools are suing Texas leaders over a private school voucher program they say blocks them because of religion. The state says schools associated with the accreditation company Cognia (cog-NEE-uh) had hosted events organized by the Council on American-Islamic Relations. That Muslim civil rights group was recently designated a terrorist organization by the Texas government, and any affiliates would be ineligible for a voucher. The U.S. State Department has not designated CAIR a terrorist group. Texas established the voucher program under a law Republican Governor Greg Abbott signed in 2025.
