10 Dead, 20 Injured in Israeli Strike on UN-Run Gaza School
By The Media Line Staff
An Israeli airstrike on Saturday hit a United Nations-run school in Gaza City’s Shati refugee camp, killing 10 Palestinians and wounding at least 20 others, according to medics. The Abu Assi school, which was sheltering displaced families, remains the focus of rescue operations as health officials report that people may still be trapped under the rubble.
There has been no immediate comment from Israeli authorities regarding the strike.
Later on Saturday, the Israeli military reported intercepting two rockets launched from northern Gaza, highlighting the capability of Palestinian factions to fire into Israel despite a sustained 13-month aerial and ground offensive. The campaign has devastated much of the Gaza Strip, displacing most of its 2.3 million residents.
Palestinian health officials stated that at least 30 people were killed in Israeli strikes across Gaza on Saturday. According to the Gaza health ministry, the conflict has claimed at least 43,799 Palestinian lives since October 7, 2023.
